This sock promises a lot in their advertising. A Merino wool sock free from bunching, non slipping, no bunching and no blisters! Seamless technology in a tough sock built to last. So I tested out a pair to see how they measured up. Below I have answered the promises Darn Tough have on this sock on their website.

The fit is very good and i didn’t get any slipping in my boot, no bunching and I had no blisters. In fact its one of the best pair of socks I have worn. 

Fine Gauge Knitting: Unprecedented durability and our unique “put it on, forget it’s on” feel.

These socks do have a very fine weave to them and its very true that once on you forget your are wearing them. Very impressed with the toughness and feel of the material. They are really well put together. 

Fast Action Wicking: Pulls moisture away from skin. Fast drying.

I often suffer from hot feet during the summer months and although on one of the hotter days me feet were super hot and did feel damp from sweat, once my boots were off they either dried very fast or were just hot. They didn’t feel damp to the touch. 

All Weather Performance: Cool in the summer, warm in the winter.

Already covered the warm weather above, but in colder walks my feet stayed warm. 

Naturally Antimicrobial: Repels bacteria and odor.

No idea how to test this one out but my kids didn’t complain about the smell of my feet after!

Not sure they will last for life, but time will tell. They are darn tough as advertised.

Can you put a price on keeping your feet warm, comfy and free from issues? Well if you could I think £17.99, which is the price I can find them online here in the UK, isn’t bad! 

Conclusion

Overall I have been very impressed with this sock. My feet have felt warm, supported and have been free from any rubbing, or sourness. I have used these socks in various conditions from mountain walks to instructing activities at our centre. I forgot I had them on most of the time and that to me is a great pair of socks. Essentially if you don’t have to think about how your feet are getting on the sock is doing a great job! So in conclusion a fantastically comfy, well designed sock thats up to the job!
